If you are a true makeup nerd i am sure you have heard the kbeauty term "glass skin". for those of you who are just dipping a toe into the nerdom that is MAKEUP (yes sitting around and putting makeup on for no reason is nerdy you hOtTiEs) then you are probalbly confused with the term "glass skin".
Glass Skin
- what it means: skin so smooth, hydrated, poreless, & glossed out, you can see through it.
- when did it start?: this look got its start in Korean beauty scene aka KBEAUTY and the US adopted it in 2018. It usually to represent a great skin care routine but you can ENHANCE the look with makeup (a very specific set of products, not your regular foundation routine).
Skincare Products (in step by step order)
- Cleanser (gentle)
- Exfoliator (no one likes dead skin)
- Sheet Mask (obviously the hydrating ones, silly)
- Essence (like a toner, but water based and hydrating)
- Toner (to target problem areas like redness, or large pores)
- Serum ( multilayered ingredients, to help with signs of aging, dullness, dark spots, etc.,)
- Moisturizer (look for ingredients like NIACINIMIDES OR HYLAURONIC ACID)
Makeup Products (in step by step order)
- Cream Highlighter (apply on top of moisturizer, on apples of cheeks, nose, cupids bow)
- Liquid Illuminator (apply on top of highlighter with flat foundation brush)
- Concealer (only target trouble areas, for me it is my dark circles)
- Cream Blush (apply by stippling with sponge)
- Clear Brow Gel (if you must fill in your brows, make it look natural!)
- Lengthening Mascara (no need for volume here, looking for a "i just got out the shower, arent i so dewy and glowy" look)
